Xinet® Inc., the leader in digital asset management solutions (xinet.com), today announced the release of Video 4.0 for WebNative® Suite. The new features in Video 4.0 improve the ability to manage multimedia files, including Shockwave Flash and HTML files, and expand the functionalities of Video Reel Generator to include soundtracks and previews of all files in the videos generated. With Video, users can search, view, annotate, approve and distribute video files, as well as create video reels seamlessly. Together, Video and the core Xinet digital asset management system, WebNative Suite, deliver significant competitive advantages to media-rich companies who want to automate production and creative workflows more effectively.
“With so many companies across all industries utilizing different media files in marketing and advertising campaigns, it’s more important than ever that they be able to track and utilize all their assets securely and efficiently,” said Scott Seebass, CEO of Xinet. “Video 4.0 for WebNative Suite addresses our customers’ need for an easy-to-use, but also feature-rich enterprise solution that can manage multimedia assets such as video, HTML and audio files, in addition to traditional print production files.”
Key enhancements to Video 4.0 include the ability to create previews of a variety of multimedia files. The latest Video release generates key frame previews of Shockwave Flash files using scene detection. It can also extract artwork from ID3 tags of MP3 audio files to create Web previews of the attached artwork. If more than one preview exists in the ID3 tag, multiple previews are viewable within WebNative Suite.
Additionally, Video 4.0 can now create key frame previews for HTML, MHTML, URL and webloc files. If the Web page has animated content, such as a Flash banner ad, Video can generate multiple previews of the Web page based on time intervals determined by the user. This not only allows companies to track and archive Web pages for customer portfolios, but helps streamline the approval cycle as users can now make annotations on each of the different rotating images.
The latest release also makes significant enhancements to Video Reel Generator, a plug-in that enables the creation of new video reels from segments of different videos, audio files, and documents, including PDFs, QuarkXPress®, or Adobe® documents and images. With access to a Web browser, files can be added to a WebNative Suite shopping basket to build a storyboard from which a new video reel can be made. With the ability to easily create videos for new business presentations or agency reels, Xinet customers save time and resources. New additions include:
• Any audio file in the basket may be used as the soundtrack for the generated video. The audio file can be played once or looped.
• The first key frame of a generated video reel will display previews for all assets used in the reel.
• Choice of quality for video output—it is now possible to choose High, Medium, or Low for the quality of the video output. This controls the quality of still images within the generated video.
Xinet will showcase Video 4.0 for WebNative Suite at the Henry Stewart Digital Asset Management conference in New York May 20-21, 2010.
