“Frankly, the last development company we hired – Atomic Design – did a fairly poor job in terms of design and usability,” said Draftharks.com President, Lenny Pappano. “We wanted to shed the skin they had us in, and so we asked our subscribers last fall what features they wanted… what design elements they wanted to see…and then we hired two companies that were passionate about their work -- and about our site.”
Among the features of the new Draft Sharks site are the revamped MVP Board – which is a customized cheat sheet based on Draft Sharks 2010 fantasy football projections; free fantasy football news in their Shark Bites area; an Injury Ticker; a redesigned Features Area, so that subscribers can read up on the latest fantasy football tips; plus a new Team Huddle so that readers can organize their fantasy football teams.
“Major props to Layer 8 Group (layer8group.com) and Accelerate Media, (acceleratemediainc.com) both of whom brought great energy to this project,” Pappano said.
Both companies that partnered with DraftSharks.com expressed similar excitement in working on this project. Accelerate Media Principal, Jason Foley, said, “As avid fantasy football players, we’ve always been frustrated by the lack of functionality offered by the industry’s websites. The Draft Sharks Team came to us committed to offering their users an experience that matched the quality of their content. It was a privilege to work with them in achieving that – and doing so with some style.”
Layer 8 Group’s Development Team Manager, Cathy Uhrich, said the Draft Sharks project was “challenging, and at the same time, one of the most fun sites on which we’ve ever worked.”
The final result has drawn rave reviews from readers. In fact, Fantasy Sports Association (fantasyplayersassociation.com) and Red vs. Blue Sports Blog Radio, President Scott Atkins calls Draftsharks.com new look “the best fantasy football site, bar none – and I’ve seen a bunch.”
