Sahida, who joined Marsden Rawsthorn in 2003 as Associate Solicitor specialises in all aspects of family law with a particular focus on financial settlements in divorce, including family businesses and other practice areas relating to domestic violence, cohabitation disputes and both Private Law and Public Law Children disputes.
The new partner started her training in Lancaster before heading up the family law department at a law firm in the West Midlands for five years. With experience in managing matters dealing with child abduction and involving foreign jurisdiction she has a good background in handling very particular cases. Sahida’s skills are heightened with a particular insight of the Shariah law in relation to divorces pertaining to clients of the Islamic faith and the cultural issues relating to Asian client's. Furthermore, Sahida speaks both Gujerati and Urdu.
Expanding her presence in the area, Sahida was invited to join the management committee for the Preston Women's Refuge and is also a member of the local Resolution Committee.
