Fox Electronics, a leading global supplier of frequency control solutions, recently announced an expansion of its HCMOS oscillator line with the new FOX251 Ultra Miniature series TCXO. Available in a compact 2.5 mm x 2.0 mm package, the ultra miniature series can be cost-effectively used as general tight tolerance clocks in digital systems that can take advantage of the small size and HCMOS output.

Fox’s new SMD HCMOS TCXOs feature a frequency range of 4 MHz to 54 MHz with stabilities as tight as ±2.5 ppm over the -30°C to +85°C operating temperature range, ±0.2 ppm over the supply voltage change and ±0.2 ppm over the load change. Storage temperature is -40°C to +125°C. Frequency tolerance is ±1.5 ppm at 25°C.

The FOX251 series features four models: the 3.3-volt FOX251C, 2.8-volt FOX251D, 2.5-volt FOX251G and 1.8-volt FOX251L models to accommodate a wide variety of design specifications. All voltages are ±5% standard.

The RoHS-compliant oscillators offer an input current of 3.1 mA to 7.0 mA depending upon the model and frequency. Standby current is 10 µA. Output load is 15 pF. Typical phase noise at a 10 kHz offset is -145 dBc/Hz. The new TCXOs feature a gold termination finish.

Pricing for a FOX251C oscillator is $1.79 in quantities of 10,000. Delivery is 10 weeks ARO.
