Step by step, beach by beach, the BeachTech fleet in Sicily has grown to a number of 14 machines. After a few unsatisfactory attempts at outsourcing the cleaning of their beaches, the city of Alcamo decided to take the task back on themselves. With the purchase of one BeachTech 3000 and a 165 HP tractor, they are now able to keep their vast and beautiful beaches clean.
The city of Alcamo had presented the need for a machine with required reliable cleaning performance in wet sandy areas, especially along the water's edge. Another important specification, considering their extensive beaches, was a significant loading capacity. The decision was apparent for the city to purchase a BeachTech 3000, which performs brilliantly in wet sand and has a loading capacity of 4.7 m³ requiring considerably fewer trips to the unloading station.
The service providing company DUSTY in Catania also decided on 2 BeachTech 2800s to fulfil the demand from their cleaning contracts in the communities of Ispica and Noto.
The purchasing contract with DUSTY was finalized during this year's SEP Pollution fair, which took place from the 21st to the 24th of April 2010 in Padua, Italy.
