Founded by its executive producers, Jonathan Galbraith, Tom Marchand and Jeff Pelletier, the company started out in April, 2004 in Gastown's historic Sun Tower building. After continually growing and acquiring more office space within the building, the team finally made the move to a much larger unit just outside of the downtown core, near the corner of Clark Drive and Venables Street, two years ago.
The new location includes an in-house video production studio and a floor for post-production with an open-concept and room to grow.
Tom Marchand, who currently heads the production department and manages the studio, sees this as a major turning point.
"As a small company with limited resources, you often have to outsource quite a bit of your work. This move allowed us to become truly full-service, and to really take things to another level", says Marchand.
"It our first step in becoming a major player in the local video production industry."
Since its expansion, the company has been able to service some larger clients, including Best Buy Canada, Grand and Toy, and EA Sports, and has even worked on projects for the Government of Canada.
The move coincided with a re-branding of the company including a new logo, the launch of a new website, blog and email newsletter. These have simple and professional look, corresponding to the company's mantra of "Video Production. Simplified."
The company has also expanded its web presence significantly in the past several years, including on social media sites.
Basetwo Media (basetwomedia.com) is a corporate video production company based in Vancouver, BC specializing in the production of promotional & educational videos, as well as event videography for small to large sized businesses.
