Below are details on GE’s new officer:
Paul Browning, 42, has been appointed vice president, Thermal Products – Power & Water for GE Energy.
In this newly created leadership role, Browning will be responsible for advancing GE’s thermal energy products and services to the next level of competitiveness. The Thermal Products business includes Heavy Duty Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Generator and Controls, and Gasification product lines.
Browning returns to GE after 12 years at Caterpillar. Most recently, he was the managing director, Caterpillar Motoren in Kiel, Germany. He also served in a variety of leadership roles in Caterpillar’s Solar Turbines business.
Prior to Caterpillar, Browning spent eight years at GE as a research and development program manager for GE Power Systems (the predecessor of GE Energy) and as a metallurgist.
Browning holds a Master’s degree in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor’s in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
He will join GE on May 17, reporting to Steve Bolze, president and CEO, GE Power and Water.
