Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, 2010/05/07 - CAD Services firm TMG, a long-term player in the engineering and architectural marketplaces, has commissioned a video channel that provides content of interest to professionals in the engineering, architecture and construction industries.

TMG (formerly known as The Magnum Group), based at Chennai, India, is one of the few Indian CAD service providers to host a technology channel specifically aimed at architects, engineers, developers and building contractors.
The Channel, christened “Engineering and Architecture”, has already started broadcasting episodes on state-of-the art content. Archived episodes include two on Building Information Modeling (BIM) and one on 3D rendering.
TMG Executive Director Lucky Balaraman, who has a Master’s degree in engineering from the University of Michigan, says of the channel, “We noticed some time ago that there was an obvious scarcity of online video channels devoted to architecture and engineering. The reason for this phenomenon was fairly obvious to us, since we are ourselves both engineers and architects… the fact is that it takes video producers in these professions to know what viewers in these professions want.”
Balaraman went on to say that architects and engineers are interested in ideas that they can use quickly and easily to improve designs that are on the drawing board.
Adds Balaraman, “Our content includes detailed explanations of the latest advances in design technology, interviews with architects and engineers who have implemented first-of-a-kind features and tips on how to assess the quality of a product or service.”
Balaraman mentioned that TMG was always open to receiving pitches from professionals who felt they could provide content of interest to the channel’s viewers.
“New ideas are being implemented every day, and the faster they can be publicized, the faster the architecture and engineering professions will evolve. It is all about the rapid spread of viable design ideas, and what can be more rapid at this time than the Internet,” Balaraman said.
TMG has the necessary qualifications to produce the channel since it has been the back office for several international engineers and architects for almost a decade, as well as being practicing engineers and architects in India.
