Trinity Mobile, an industry leader in mobile ticketing, mobile couponing and mobile marketing, announced today a 45% increase in sales for the first-quarter of 2010, the highest ever recorded by the company. The successful performance of Trinity Mobile has been attributed to the rise in mobile ticketing adoption by UK nightclubs and music festivals including a massive uptake during the Christmas and New Year period that triggered a wealth of new mobile ticket sales for Trinity Mobile and its customers.
Trinity Mobile is now the biggest supplier of mobile ticketing for the UK’s nightclub sector, and counts some of the UK’s biggest nightclub and event organisers as customers including Gatecrasher and Nexum Leisure.
“We had over £1M pounds worth of club tickets go through our system on New Year’s Eve equating to a total of 75K tickets for one night across 70 clubs in the UK – and all with zero glitches,” states Rob Clegg, Commercial Director at Trinity Mobile. “The spike in sales over the holidays was a tremendous milestone and accomplishment for Trinity Mobile, and has helped us to secure a very loyal client base that will continue to use our services. The huge uptake in our service over the past year is a testimony to the ability of mobile ticketing to offer a fast, easy and affordable way to generate tickets for millions of customers, and offers further evidence of consumers’ growing desire to perform business transactions like mobile ticketing using their mobile device.”
Gatecrasher has sold over 500K mobile tickets in the past 2.5 years making them Trinity Mobile’s most successful mobile ticketing customer in the UK. “All of our advance event tickets are mobile tickets and they have proven to be a great success for us. They allow the entire ticketing part of the entry process to be handled quickly and efficiently outside the club in the roped-off areas prior to ID and x-ray security searches on customers’ belongings – all of which take time and cause the bulk of delays,” comments Cayven Valentine from Gatecrasher. “We also have the added benefit of using the mobile ticketing data we gather including postcode information and frequency of visits to promote and market future events to our customers.”
Nexum Leisure has calculated that the average spend per customer increases between 13 to 20 percent per customer when a mobile ticket is used. “We’ve used mobile ticketing as a club for three years now, and it plays an integral part in the way we operate because it is easy to use and so much more efficient – especially during peak periods like New Year’s Eve,” states Neil Jennings, Manager of Nexum Leisure’s Syndicate Blackpool, the biggest nightclub in the UK. “The Trinity Mobile ticketing system allows us to set up events at the touch of a button, post the events live online and on mobile, and simply start selling tickets. We get people buying tickets right up through the time when the venue opens which equates to an even greater opportunity to monetize last minute sales.”
Building upon its biggest financial growth to date, Trinity Mobile is preparing for another major surge in ticket sales over the two bank holiday weekends in May. A number of major concerts used Trinity Mobile’s system this past weekend including Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto Las Vegas at Gatecrasher Birmingham on 1st May, Pacha featuring Eric Morillo at Gatecrasher Birmingham on 2nd May, and Eric Prydz at Syndicate Blackpool. During the first UK bank holiday this past weekend, Gatecrasher sold more than 6500 mobile tickets, and one of the biggest Drum and Bass (D&B) concerts of the year, Detonate Indoor Music Festival in Nottingham sold over 7800 mobile tickets.
According to a recent report by Juniper Research, Western Europe will become the leading region in mobile ticketing by 2014 based on the number of tickets sold, overtaking the current mobile ticket leader, the Far East and China region. Adds Clegg, “We intend to be a big part of that growth and look forward to delivering continued success to our existing clients while securing new business opportunities throughout the UK and Europe.”
