Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands, 2010/04/29 - Linxtelecom today announced the finalized expansion of its Datacenter in Moscow. This expansion increases the datacenter capacity with an additional 100 racks and five new Disaster Recovery Offices.

The Datacenter was built according to a unique modular concept. Its 5-th Module was constructed according to the highest international standards, allowing for maximum reliability and safety. The new module was built according to TIER 3+ standards.
Erwin Sparreboom, Vice President Operations of Linxtelecom: “This new module was specifically designed to guarantee a higher level of availability, which is becoming increasingly important to some of our major customers. Module 5 is probably the most advanced Datacenter in Moscow right now, offering a full 2N configuration with regards to power and cooling”.
“In order to deal with the increased amount of network traffic, we also recently completed a diversely routed DWDM ring from our Datacenter to M9; both M9 and our Datacenter are major locations of Moscow’s Internet Exchange MSK-IX. The ring is currently operating at 50Gbps but can be upgraded to 800Gbps in the future when needed” added Erwin.
The five new Disaster Recovery Offices span a total space of 300m2. These fully equipped and wired-up offices allow customers to accommodate their staff during emergency events so that operations can resume through customer’s back-up ICT infrastructure located in the modules.
