Taking Your Life from Ambition to Meaning
My name is Giselle Bonetti. This past October 2009 I launched Sconetti, a Lifestyle Management and Concierge Company, with my then business partner Sol Scott. The history behind Sconetti has been widely publicized and featured in print media since our official launch. Just in case you missed our wonderful launch party, courtesy of the Viceroy Hotel or did not hear about us here is a brief description on what we specialize in. The company caters to an affluent clientele, which is either a direct or indirect relationship through my real estate business under the Sotheby's umbrella. We offer services such as: home maintenance, event planning, personal shopping, staffing, transportation, luxury rental or sales and so forth.
For many years I have been birthing the concept of this type of business. However, life happens, circumstances change, you have children and the rest you can imagine. Many times we must put our dreams and goals on hold thinking we can't do it all…I disagree with that philosophy now! Last year I decided would be the year to finally birth the business I have been longing for all these years. There were many factors that came into play on why I finally went ahead with launching the company. The first one being the dissolution of SOL Sotheby's International Realty and my position in the company as Sales/Office Manager. Second, the real estate market decreased in activity, so I thought ‘what better time than now.' The main reason that really drove me and fueled me with this fearless mentality was a visit to my friends’ house one night. Maria Jacobo, once married to professional baseball player Pedro Martinez invited me over to a women's prayer group with Prophet James Jorgensen as the guest. As the Christian that I am I know how powerful God's word can be and all though I was looking forward to what the Lord wanted to share with me through Pastor Jim, I have to admit I was a bit nervous!
I remember that day as if it were yesterday. I sat behind the prophet in the hopes that he would not see the nervous look on my face. As he turned to me he said, “you are a gem to the Lord and he is pleased with you, but what are you waiting for?” I had a blank stare on my face, not sure what he was referring to. He continued with, “all those children are waiting for you, you know, the little children the world has forgotten.” I immediately broke down into tears. I knew what he was talking about, I have always had a weak heart for kids in need and being from the Dominican Republic it's something I grew up seeing and I’ve always felt there is something I need to do! Although I had this overwhelming feeling to help, I somehow always had an excuse, not enough money to help others, no time, I'm not powerful enough, not the right connections and so forth. That day as I once again started to silently repeat all these excuses in my mind, Pastor Jim said “let go and he will lead you.” So, I did and Sconetti was born. Now I have the time and I can create my financial freedom and serve others in need while making a difference in the world. Everything seemed to be on track, although there is always room for improvement. I felt I had the right partnership and support from everyone else and with hard work and dedication everything will fall into place. After the earthquake in Haiti, it became evident to me that this is my calling. I will do whatever it takes to build an Orphanage Home in both Haiti and the Dominican Republic… this is my destiny!
I would bet I'm not alone when I say this, every time things are running smoothly something always seems to happen. I received a call from Sol. She was very excited about an opportunity in the real estate industry with a different company. Now this changes everything for me, and the concept of our business. We amicably decided that her parting the company was the appropriate move. This could have been a situation that would have knocked me down or made me feel that this is just not for me or it wasn’t meant to be. However, I have a wonderful relationship with God, a supportive family, and a brilliant life coach named Diana Melendez and they all pulled me through this. I asked myself “what can I learn from this situation?” I learned that I'm not always in control. Success doesn't happen overnight, it's trials after trials. However, it's how we handle them that build our character. That same week two amazing phone calls came through for me to expand my services and take my company to the next level. I knew this is what God planned for me all along. I will continue with the baby I birthed last year, whether the same players are on board or not. I have a destiny to fulfill, not for me but for those kids that are waiting for me. All this has created a positive opportunity to change the name of the company to Blu Concierge, Property & Lifestyle Management. We will continue to operate under the same integrity and excellence, offering the same services and more!
In conclusion, this is an ironic situation for me, to all happen around Passover week. As a Christian I see it this way. Dying of the old, resurrecting with the NEW!
