Grubb & Ellis|Thomas Linderman Graham, a leading Triangle real estate services firm, announced today that Shane Bull, real estate advisor, recently represented WEST in downtown Raleigh’s Glenwood South district to broker a 4,000-square-foot space for Still Life. Still Life will open in May on the ground floor of the 17-story residential condominium building. Les Pearce of Dillon Commercial represented the tenant.
This is the second Still Life location to open in North Carolina. The first location is in Greenville. Sharif Hatoum, Still Life owner, has over 15 years’ experience in the nightclub and entertainment industry and says his club’s technology and influence on patrons’ senses set it apart from the typical nightclub and lounge.
“What makes Still Life especially different is that it is very stimulating to the senses in terms of our state-of-the-art sound systems and our intelligent laser and lighting system,” explains Hatoum. “In addition, the entire establishment is run by a multi-colored LED system that allows us to change the color of the venue, thus altering the atmosphere by the push of a button. We have found that the play on colors can really affect a person’s mood and experience.”
Hatoum says that if it's Valentine's Day for example, Still Life can be “painted” from top to bottom in soft pinks and reds by the LED lighting system. The club will also showcase local restaurants that will provide hor d'oeuvres to the clientele throughout the night.
Bull, along with George Richards, Senior Vice President, Retail Team Leader for Grubb & Ellis, worked with WEST developer, Gregg Sandreuter of Hamilton Merritt Inc. in closing the lease for Still Life. Landlord representation is an area that Bull is looking to expand and Sandreuter says that he welcomes the opportunity to work with Bull again.
Hatoum says that his experience with Bull was equally positive and was impressed with his integrity and personality.
“Shane is a people person,” says Hatoum. “He is the type of guy who can relate to you on a personal level. He’s a down-to-earth and honest guy with nothing but good intentions. We’re happy to be a part of the development of WEST and the growth of Raleigh as a city.”
Still Life is looking to attract business professionals who are looking for a venue to escape the mundane routine of a busy workweek. Hatoum says that people will “experience the difference” once they attend Sill Life. Hatoum adds that he is planning to open several Still Life nightclubs across the United States.
