Cleveland, OH, United States, 2010/04/16 - Cleveland seed capital investment & business development incubator GCA holds showcase event on April 21 to highlight entrepreneurs with new business ideas in conjunction with global organization, TiE Ohio - Ohio.TiE.org.
Goldstein, Caldwell & Associates (GCA) a Cleveland-based seed capital investment and business development company announces its spring portfolio company showcase on Wednesday, April 21. The event will be put on with TiE Ohio and is open to investors and entrepreneurs from 5 pm to 9 pm at GCA’s office located at 10550 Carnegie Avenue. Those wishing to attend must register online. To register, visit the TiE Ohio website.
The audiences of GCA and TiE Ohio overlap; therefore, collaboration between the two groups for this event was unequivocal. GCA’s focus on young Cleveland entrepreneurs and TiE Ohio’s concentration on immigrant entrepreneurs has created a synergy with numerous added benefits. These include wider networks, more exposure, a greater mentor pool and complimentary services including office space, true global connections and entrepreneurial guidance to local networks that both foreign-born and Cleveland-based entrepreneurs need.
The event will feature four formal presentations from new Cleveland startups with more than twenty startups set up in the exhibit area. The presenters from GCA are Sunflower Solutions, a company that has created the world's first manually adjustable solar power system, and Corkshare, a unique social networking site that allows users to post and share content on a virtual corkboard. From TiE, companies Kidnyx and Gigfinity will be presenting their ideas. Kidnyx is a company aiming to improve the dialysis patient's quality of life with their medical device and natural approach. Gigfinity, an online platform for local and regional businesses, allows promotion and connection with customer bases and other businesses.
The opening keynote speech will be delivered by Richard Herman, who is a co-founder of the Ohio chapter of TiE, a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and has been three-times recognized as a “Leading Lawyer” by Inside Business Magazine. Mr. Herman’s multi-cultural law firm serves immigrant and minority communities nationwide. He is also part of an architecture team, which hopes to revitalize the Rust Belt to attract job-creating entrepreneurial and investor immigrants to distressed parts of the nation.
