“I believe in the value of public service and I will be honored to serve the hard-working families of our community who deserve a government that fights and works for them,” Cal said.
Cal, who works as a Homeland Security Policy Advisor, has called District 8 'home' all his life, and he currently lives in Villa Cresta with his wife, Kaiti, and son, Grayson. As the president of the Villa Cresta Community Association he is already heavily involved in local issues.
Cal grew up in a household with an extended family that is deaf. His parents are advocates on behalf of the deaf and hard of hearing community. His official campaign website features Cal's campaign announcement video in spoken word and American Sign Language, which reaches out to a group in the community that has, for too long, been ignored in the political process.
“The focus of this campaign is to inspire people to participate and get involved, and the best way for me to do that is to make myself available to everyone,” said Bowman.
As a Delegate, Cal Bowman (calbowman.com) will center his legislative agenda on supporting the hopes of District 8 communities for a more secure life. He believes that a better Maryland needs:
• A smarter government - accountable, efficient, effective.
• To protect businesses and stimulate the economy.
• To protect consumers and shield them from the unscrupulous actions of unethical creditors and failed banks.
• To never compromise on public safety and to continue our strong support of police officers and fire fighters.
• To promote strong schools and support strong teachers.
"This is more than simply a campaign for the House of Delegates," said Bowman. “This is a campaign to bring the voice of District 8 to Annapolis."
