Yonkers, NY, United States, 2010/03/23 - Counterterrorism expert publishes new book, a “clarion call for common sense and real action to protect Americans... should be read by everyone working for the Department of Homeland Security.” - Alan Caruba in Bookviews.
Who do you trust to keep you safe? That’s the fundamental question that E. J. Courtney poses in his straight-talking new book, Saving America from the Right Perspective (Xulon Press, paper, $14.99), which conservatives are embracing as a clarion call for common sense and productive action in protecting America from international extremism.
Courtney, a security expert who has helped implement training programs for the Office of Homeland Security and the Office of Domestic Preparedness, makes a forceful argument that a liberal political agenda is responsible for creating huge vulnerabilities in America’s safety.
“Political correctness is simply crippling America’s abilities to protect itself in the arena of counterterrorism,” contends Courtney. “Preparing for and responding to the threat of WMD terrorism is the single largest security issue of our times. We are in a fight for our lives. Without a clear-headed commitment to conservative change we will surely lose that fight.”
Courtney doesn’t believe in pulling punches. He speaks plainly and convincingly—like the retired police lieutenant he is—to the “silent majority” of Americans who have unwittingly allowed “anti-American zealots to seize control of our government and culture.” If we’re to prevent ourselves from sacrificing our security on the altar of political correctness, we’ll need a return, he contends, to the patriotism and national consensus that flourished briefly after the attacks of 9/11.
“Liberal thinking simply can’t keep us safe anymore. If we don’t change course—and do it quickly—it will be too late to save ourselves from enemies who are more determined than we are.”
In Saving America from the Right Perspective (SaveAmericaRight.com), Courtney puts the old adage that conservatives are “better” at national security to the test and finds it to be truer today than ever before in our history.
“Conservatives are better at keeping us safer. It’s as simple as that.” In 194 pages, Courtney backs up his contention with powerful facts, commonsense analysis, and historical examples that the “folly of misguided Leftist ideas” has left us dangerously vulnerable.
There’s still time to save ourselves, Courtney contends. But it’s running out fast. How we think about ourselves as a nation—and what we do about it—will make all the difference in the world.
