Santa Clara, CA, United States, 2010/03/15 - BAIS, Inc., a premier Silicon Valley Co-Location and Managed IT Solutions Provider, has been awarded the maximum incentive amount from Silicon Valley Power’s (SVP) Customer Directed Rebate program for energy efficient measures.
BAIS, Inc., a premier Silicon Valley Co-Location and Managed IT Solutions Provider, announced today it has been awarded the maximum incentive amount from Silicon Valley Power’s (SVP) Customer Directed Rebate program for energy efficient measures taken in its newest co-location facility at Martin Avenue in Santa Clara, CA.
This 83,000-square-foot state-of-the-art data center facility can accommodate more than 2,000 cold aisle containment racks and has been constructed with the latest in environmentally friendly technologies and equipment, including innovative architectural designs resulting in significant reduction in power consumption and pollutants.
“We are very proud to have built a data center that actually surpassed the SVP energy efficiency requirements in order to qualify for their maximum incentive rebate,” said BAIS president and CEO, Tom Wye. “We have constructed one the most technologically advanced co-location facilities, including an innovative economizer design to accommodate today’s growing customer demands for high-density power coupled with efficient and consistent cooling requirements.”
Wye said the BAIS submission to SVP included three of the facility’s energy-saving measures. “The main energy saving measure is our innovative economizer construction, which results in up to 75 percent energy savings on cooling,” Wye said. “The second submission is our implementation of Emerson Network Power’s Liebert precision cooling systems with EC plug fans, reducing energy consumption by about 35 percent compared to non-EC plug fan CRAC units. The final submission is the implementation of Emerson Network Power’s Liebert SmartAisleTM systems for cold aisle containment, which reduce energy consumption by up to 70 percent compared to rows with no enclosures. Our mission is to continue to provide best-of-breed services and solutions while helping preserve our planet.”
BAIS’ newest co-location facility is ready to serve more than 1,000 cold-aisle containment cabinets with high-density power requirements. Wye said BAIS is “looking forward to serving enterprises, large and small, with their growing IT solution needs for decades to come.”
