There are probably not many Swedes who have missed the TV commercial for Triss, the most popular instant win game in the country, where a company receptionist, a lady of a certain age, suddenly one day starts speaking to everybody with a very strange squeaky voice (by inhaling helium gas from a balloon). This campaign for Svenska Spel, the largest gaming operator in Sweden, and the Triss lottery, known as ‘Imagine having work a bit more like a hobby’, was created by the agency Forsman & Bodenfors.
In the follow-up web campaign on the same theme, web visitors are invited to record their voicemail messages with helium voices and in that way try by themselves to imagine work a bit more like a hobby. In a flash-based application (banner) connected to Acapela's online service for text-to-speech conversion, the user types in his/her reply message, selects a male or a female voice and listens to the result. When satisfied, he/she looks up the recording mode for the voicemail on the mobile phone and holds it against the computer's speakers. The reply message is recorded.
The web application is developed by the digital production agency Rebenga (rebenga.se) and the campaign is launched through web site banner advertising.

Forsman & Bodenfors (fb.se) chose Acapela to help them implement the text-to-speech part of the campaign. By manipulating the pitch and speed of Acapela standard voices they managed to create voices similar to so-called helium voices.
