Testopel®, marketed by Slate Pharmaceuticals of Durham, North Carolina, has been shown to restore to normal condition testosterone levels in men who have the medical condition known as Low T (low testosterone).
Testosterone is the hormone responsible for the normal growth and development of male sex and reproductive organs. Beyond sexual function, testosterone plays a key role in overall male health and well-being. An estimated 13 million men in the United States are affected by low testosterone levels. Men who are obese, diabetic, or have high blood pressure have a far greater risk of suffering from Low T. The more commonly used testosterone replacement gels must be administered daily and an injection alternative lasts only a few weeks. Testopel is also less costly for the patient and actual treatment administration takes only 10 minutes.
