BIGSTAR.tv, the global headquarters for independent film, has launched a royalty free music section through a partnership with Kompoz, an online network for musicians. Songs produced by Kompoz artists are featured on BIGSTAR.tv's online community, enabling the filmmaker to browse, listen and easily license a variety of music for film and TV projects, and webisodes.
There are over 2,000 selections, ranging from Latin to Country, Grunge to Alternative and Rock to Hip Hop, all available in a user friendly format and organized by genre, mood, style and tempo. Music is priced to fit everyone's pocket and is based on format and single or perpetual use. For single use in podcasts, internet radio and short videos, fees range from only $1.99 to $9.99 and for short films, feature films and commercials range from $99 to $375. Perpetual use prices range from $29.99 to $499.
"The collaboration offers a win-win opportunity for both film and music communities as it provide tremendous savings and a one-stop shopping experience for the filmmaker while musicians receive greater visibility and earnings for their finished compositions," commented Xavi Dalmau, President and CEO of BIGSTAR.tv.
Musicians will earn 50% of the revenue for the purchase of their product at BIGSTAR.tv. In the same respect, BIGSTAR.tv offers film talent an opportunity to earn revenues of 50% for the purchase or rental of their movies through BIGSTAR.tv's digital distribution platform.
Another way in which BIGSTAR.tv supports the filmmaking community is through the recent launch of the BIGSTAR Online Film Festival (BOFF) for which they are now accepting entries of short films less than 5 minutes in length. BOFF offers a grand prize of $50,000 cash for the best film while other submissions will receive recognition through awards of merit in 14 categories including: Best Director, Best Actor/Actress, Best Supporting Actor/Actress, Best Animation, and Best Foreign Film. Finalists will be chosen by a jury of industry professionals and winners will be selected by a panel of celebrity judges.
BIGSTAR.tv offers downloads of over 1,000 independent films and premium content online in high definition. Film fans can preview, download and transfer unlimited screenings of cutting-edge indie films directly to their computer, DVD or TV screen from the BIGSTAR.tv online movie store. BIGSTAR.tv will initiate a subscription service beginning April 1, 2010. For $5.99, subscribers will receive unlimited streaming of BOFF film entries and can choose any of the titles available in the BIGSTAR.tv online movie store.
