Letchworth, Herts, United Kingdom, 2006/06/12 - The British Learning Association (BLA) is being supported by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) to represent the UK's learning & skills development sector at Online Educa Berlin in November.

The BLA will promote the UK's learning and development sector as a centre of expertise, with opportunities available for UK products and services worldwide.
The BLA aims to achieve this by organising:
A pre-conference forum on 'Lifelong Learning in the UK'
An exhibition presence to provide a UK focus for delegates where a 'UK Capability' brochure will be distributed.
A reception for Online Educa delegates will be hosted by the British Embassy in Berlin to support this initiative.
Speaking on this new opportunity, Brian Merison, General Manager of the BLA said, "This is a fantastic opportunity to promote the UK's leading position in lifelong learning, and we are proud that the BLA is the organisation taking this forward with the support of UKTI."
The BLA has approached a number of UK agencies who are influential in lifelong learning policy to present at the pre-conference forum. Including: DfES, Becta and JISC, as well as practitioners who can present exemplar case studies.
The BLA gained the support of UKTI in this initiative following the outstanding success of the International Opportunities event organised for UKTI in February.
Online Educa is one of the largest International e-Learning and distance education events, attracting more than 2000 strategists and practitioners from around the globe.
