Ed Brantley and Heba Salama, weight loss winners from NBC’s "The Biggest Loser," have announced their new relationship with the Triangle’s Premier Gym, Rapid Fitness. The couple will act as Wellness Ambassadors for Rapid Fitness, and Ed, a certified NFPT Trainer, will join the personal training staff at the gym’s downtown location.
“We were ready to work closely with and promote a gym where the client is the focus. I don’t have years of experience in personal training, but I have lived the other side of the battle in losing weight and working hard to get healthy,” said Ed. “I am really excited to pass on what I have learned in my journey, and hope to help other people finally reach their goals as well.”
The couple will make monthly appearances for Rapid Fitness, and work to promote their healthy lifestyle through the facilities and training offered by the gym’s two currently opened facilities located at 7101 Glenwood Ave and at 509 W. North Street in downtown Raleigh, with their third location opening next month in North Ridge Shopping Center located off of Falls of Neuse Road.
“Going to the gym can be really hard to stick with,” said Heba. “We found that Rapid Fitness holds true to it’s slogan of ‘Quick Results, Done Right,’ and we love being able to work out in such a state-of-the-art facility with all of the latest equipment. We quickly felt at ease with their facilities and staff and can’t wait to spread our message of wellness alongside this company.”
Rapid Fitness (rapidfitness.com) works to set itself apart from other Triangle gyms with their client-based approach to fitness and corporate wellness programs.
“We saw a void in the market and wanted to create a workout experience that was more than just a ‘gym’,” said Michael Rattenni, owner of Rapid Fitness. “We are focused on getting the best results for the client through our personal training staff, group exercise classes and top-of-the-line equipment. We offer a quality of life change, not just a fitness plan. Having Ed and Heba further promote healthy lifestyle in a non-intimidating setting helps us reach out to a broader audience of people seeking to change their lives through fitness.”
The first major project the couple is launching will be a “Bootcamp for Brides”, which is set to launch by mid-February.
“I was a heavy bride, and I wish there had been such a great opportunity for me! The access to Rapid Fitness’ facilities and trainers with a huge prize pack at the end is just icing in the cake,” said Heba.
The Bootcamp will award one lucky couple that makes it through the Biggest Loser-type challenge with gifts from local vendors, including flowers, a wedding cake, wedding bands and pampering from Primp SalonBar in Raleigh.
