'Solsbury Hill' is the new single from Canadian sensation Justin Hines, released January 2010. Following the successes of Say What You Will, and Courage (Come Out To Play), Solsbury Hill is the third track to be taken from Justin's latest album Chasing Silver.
This single is a cover of Peter Gabriel's hit, which was released in 1977 on his album 'Moribound the Burgermeister' and was Top 20 on the UK charts. Justin was weary of recording the song, as he is a big fan of Peter Gabriel, but once the song was recorded and performed live, the feedback from his audience globally was nothing short of positive. The song was so heavily requested that it encouraged Justin to release it as a single.
Justin will be performing at a CTV Olympic special on Saturday Feb 20th at Nathan Phillips Square alongside Barenaked Ladies and Fefe Dobson. This is a free event taking place at 1pm EST and will be broadcast live from Toronto.
Justin Hines BIO
Coming from a musical family, it has been said of Justin Hines that he was carrying a tune before he was talking. Listening to every song on his father’s jukebox as a kid, Justin was inspired by artists such as James Taylor, Willie Nelson, Cat Stevens, Jim Croce and Harry Chapin.
At age 14, Justin competed against hundreds of entrants for the opportunity to sing the Canadian national anthem at a Toronto Raptors game. His first gig was in front of 17,000 people.
Justin copes with a rare genetic joint condition called Larsen Syndrome, which keeps him wheelchair bound and causes his joints to dislocate easily and often. But despite any of this, Justin is utterly optimistic and his beautiful spirit shines through in both his lyrics and delivery.
His charitable works are so numerous it’s hard to even begin to list his performances at fundraising events that began at the age of 10. His love and concern for humanity, not just the disadvantaged gradually became his focus of attention.
Showcasing the more intimate elements of Hines’ artistry, his first CD titled Sides was released in 2007 and propelled Justin to success, leading him to travel and share his story and music in several parts of the world including the US, Asia and Dubai.
In June 2009, Justin released his second studio album, Chasing Silver. Once again collaborating with Justin Abedin, they proved to be a brilliant team, producing heart-warming and powerful songs such as Say What You Will and Courage (Come Out To Play). In November 2009, he released his first full length album of holiday songs on Season’s Greetings.
He performed more than 50 shows last year in North America including opening the Canadian Parasport Summer Games featured performer status on Samsung's Marriage of Excellence, 6-city, high profile tour of China in support of athletes at the Beijing Paralympics. He raised thousands of dollars and a lot of attention for the Variety Club of Ontario by being the first artist to bring advanced, interactive PDF technology on-line where he offers his music for a donation to the cause. When Like Each Day Was Your Last: A Journey with Justin Hines, was broadcast on BRAVO'S Program of the Week, the television portrait that profiled the southern-Ontario singer-songwriter's musical achievements , pushed SIDES up the iTunes Roots genre chart from the mid-70's to # 5 and the album has remained in the top 100 since its release. Propelled by critical acclaim and audience satisfaction, numerous TV appearances and strong web presence, his single Wish You Well was a # 1 hit on iTunes.

People magazine CD review
In this issue of CD reviews we’re going to do things a little differently, by dedicating the entire column to one very special artist.
Justin Hines is a Canadian singer-songwriter with a tender approach to lyrics and a gorgeous voice. But Justin copes with a rare genetic condition called Larsen syndrome that keeps him wheelchair bound. “Sometimes people find it hard to understand why I would be so positive,” he explains. “I was born into my situation, I don’t know any different, and I feel very fortunate for my family and all the support that I have. I know my physical condition is a bit of an attention grabber, but as an artist and performer, it is my job to hold the audiences attention, and let the music speak for itself.” And he certainly does. This wonderful artist is an inspiration to us all. Check out our review of his debut album below.
4 stars
Forget his illness. It’s not a drawback. Justin Hines is all about talent. His voice is interesting, resonant and beautiful. His lyrics are tender and at times heartbreaking. Add to that the sky-high production values in this album and you’ll find that sides. Is one of the best debuts by a young artist in recent years. Lets hope he gets the recognition he so richly deserves.

Lyrics for Chasing Silver:
Hello my old companion, it's been a while
When I think of you, I can't help but smile.
Cuz I'm a lover in time running down a dream,
A heart growing wild looking for a field
I wait until moonlight to call your name
For the beauty in silence is the sweetest thing
And all I am, and all I'll be
Fulfilling the vision only you can see.
I'm chasing silver when I know I'll catch gold
I know I'll catch gold.
And the smile of a young one on their father's knee
Reminds me of love and what it means to me
Cuz I've lived my days through
Your perfect eyes
Now I feel every blessing right before my cries.
I'm chasing silver when I know I'll catch gold.
I'm chasing silver when I know I'll catch gold.
And the only thing we're guilty of is innocence.
If we're honest with ourselves
And in moments when I hear the voice of doubt and I can't get out,
I know I'm safe with you.
Chasing silver....
One day my life shall pass as time moves on
But I'll look to your journey when I think love has gone.
Cuz to be in your arms is to be set free
And everyday how I long to be
Chasing silver when I know I'll catch gold
And with my hand in yours, I know I'll catch gold...
I know I'll catch
Yeah I know I'll catch gold.
