Akron, OH, United States, 2010/01/18 - The Gift of IT, Inc. to offer on line training for Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook for a reduced fee to unemployed, underemployed and dislocated workers.

The Gift of IT, a non-profit organization seeking a 501 (c) 3 status announces a national training program for displaced and unemployed workers. We are providing on line interactive training session at a reduced price to teach 21st century skills to the unemployed, underemployed and the dislocated workers.
We offer beginners, intermediate, and advanced courses in all Microsoft Office 2007 products, keyboarding, Windows XP, and basic computer concepts for $65.00 each.
An anonymous donor provided the organization with funds to subsidize the cost of training. We will work with individuals and other non-profit organizations with clients who cannot afford the $65.00 fee. The training is available on line for anyone in the 50 states that is unemployed, underemployed, or dislocated. Eligible participants are not required to be a resident of Ohio.
“It is important to maintain your existing computer skills and to acquire new computer skills,” says Benita Williams, the Executive Director of the Gift of IT. “Now more than ever Americans must keep-up-to-date with technology as technology is one of many industries that will lead the way to economic recovery.”
The Gift of IT will provide personalized on line training to groups of 20 participants per session. To check for eligibility, individuals can contact The Gift of IT directly at 888.323.4621 ext 0. Online registration will be available on The Gift of IT's web site beginning January 25, 2010.
Non-profit organizations with client referrals will receive an additional discount. To submit your client referral, contact James Brown, the Workforce Development Coordinator at 888.323.4621 Ext 707. The subsidy begins January 21, 2010 and continues through April 2010 or until the funds are exhausted.
