Florida-based Applied Media Technologies Corporation, the industry-leading manufacturer of commercial sound equipment, has announced the addition of a new omnidirectional speaker model to its wide array of products.
The new speaker boasts a full-frequency, 6.5-inch driver housed in an attractive, sphere-shaped plastic enclosure with a dispersion cone, allowing for 360-degree sound distribution. This allows businesses to use a single omnidirectional speaker in place of several conventional recess-mount or surface-mount speakers, resulting in dramatically reduced hardware and installation costs. The speaker supports 8-ohm, 70V and 100V connections, and can be tapped as high as 30W for high-powered audio applications or as low as 3.3W for conventional background music use.
The speaker weighs just 5 pounds (2.2 kg) and can be mounted to hard or suspended ceilings securely and easily using the included steel cable assembly. It is available in black (model EQ-SPKOMB) and white (model EQ-SPKOMW) and retails for $149.99, easily making it the most economical commercial-grade omnidirectional speaker in the market.
"In today's economy, our customers are even more cost-conscious than ever. AMTC’s new 6.5" Omnidirectional Speakers gives us yet another way to deliver superior sound quality while cutting costs," expressed Matt Holden, AMTC’s Director of Product Development.
AMTC’s 6.5" Omnidirectional Speakers will be available in the first quarter of 2010.
