The Seacoast Green Home & Living Show (greenhomeandlivingshows.com) is New Hampshire’s largest green consumer event, dedicated to inspiring, informing and empowering the public to build green, save green and live green. Visitors can shop 21,000 sq. ft of earth-friendly exhibits, while gathering information and inspiration from presentations, demonstrations, seminars and activities.
Despite the recent economic downturn, consumers are buying green in record numbers. “Sales of green, sustainable, eco-friendly products --- energy-efficient light bulbs to organic produce -- will rise 8.7 percent in 2009 to nearly $38 billion”, according to a November Reuter’s News report. “There’s never been a better time to build green, buy local and live green” said Garrett Smith, Spokesperson for Green Event Pros. “More people are buying green not just because they want to make a difference, but because they want high-quality products that offer long-term value and savings; and green-er products provide this”. Smith continued, “The goal of the Green Home & Living Show is to create a unique and interactive experience where visitors can learn to lead a green-er lifestyle, which benefits the environment, their community, and their wallets.”
The carbon-neutral, zero waste event is open to the public Saturday10am to 7pm, and Sunday10am to 5pm. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and active military families. Children 16 and under are free. The first 1,000 visitors will receive a free “eco-gift” and everyone can enter to win a Green Home Makeover, which will include a complete home energy audit from Building Alternatives of NH. All attendees will receive a “Green Bill” equal to their ticket purchase price.
