ELEKS Software, a global software services provider, announced the release of MyInternet portal (my-inet.eu). Developed for the largest Ukrainian media holding Glavred Media, the portal is expected to unite the largest number of users and become a leading Internet portal in Ukraine.
“We have had the official beta release of the portal since mid-September”, said Olena Firstova, the head of the Web Solutions Department for ELEKS Software. “From the moment it went live, we looked at the feedback from a wide cross-section of its users and incorporated that feedback into the current release.” She continued: “We are constantly expanding the number of services available on the portal. One of the recently added services is a tourist tour search. In the near future, users will enjoy even more business and educational services. Companies will be able to create their own profiles and the portal will support distance education.”
Developed according to the best practices of Web 2.0, the portal truly stands out among other web portals in Ukraine for its user-friendliness, enhanced usability, its wide range of services and high level of personalization. MyInternet allows its users to arrange their business day, plan a personal budget and leisure activities. Users can easily customize user preferences for viewed information, set levels of communications activity, set the level of financial detail and entertainment available. Users can create personal bookmarks and set multiple profiles within one account. News aggregators from Glavred Media process various news sources and deliver only desired news topics based on user preferences.

MyInternet was built using C# 3.0 / Microsoft.NET (MVC Framework), JavaScript, Microsoft SQL Server and is hosted on Windows Server 2008. The technologies and server products employed in the portal’s development ensure the highest level of security as well as fast data search and access. Using data encryption, data stored on the portal has the maximum level of protection against unauthorized access.
MyInternet was developed as a flexible platform that allows supplementing new services and integrating new technologies. Notably, MyInternet is one of the first portals in Ukraine that employs Microsoft Bing, an innovative search technology.
