Humphrey Bogart, one of America’s best-known and beloved actors, is slated to be honored on Saturday, June 24th at 12 Noon on the site of his birthplace home at 245 West 103rd Street, New York City. A plaque has recently been placed at the former home, which is currently owned by the City of New York and has been identified as a historic building in honor of the cinematic icon. Also, in honor of the Hollywood legend, a resident of the west side for 22 years, West 103rd Street between Broadway and West End Avenue is being renamed Humphrey Bogart Place.
Representatives from the New York City Housing Authority and the Department of Parks & Recreation will be present to officiate. Co-star in 4 films/Widow Lauren Bacall and their son, Stephen Bogart will attend the ceremony.
This is one of many up-coming events and tributes planned, to honor the memory of Humphrey Bogart. The year 2007 will mark 50 years since the actor passed away.
