A brand new charity competition, The Big Charity Holiday Auction, has just been launched where they are giving away a holiday a day for 30 days. All proceeds are going to Just A Drop, an amazing water charity that helps children and their families access safe water in developing countries.
Drinking unsafe water is the biggest killer of children under 5 years old, with one dying every 20 seconds.
Just A Drop's remit is to help eradicate this problem and they are now starting to make a REAL difference. To date the charity has helped over 1 million children and their families in 29 countries.
The Big Charity Holiday Auction starts today (Saturday 21st November) and is running until 23rd December, with a prize to be won almost every day.
There are over 30 holidays to be given away in a reverse auction, operated by bidclever. A reverse auction is an auction game with a twist, where the lowest unique bid wins not the highest. Players compete against each other to place what they think will be the lowest unique bid, thats the lowest bid in pence that no one else will place.
Each bid only costs 50p to enter with all proceeds going to Just A Drop. Simply register and choose the When bidding on your selected prize, you are told right away if your bid is unique but not the lowest, not unique or the lowest unique bid. If the status of your bid changes throughout the auction, you are notified, so you can bid again and try to outwit your fellow bidders. The bidder with the lowest unique bid at the close of the auction wins the prize. You don't even have to pay the winning bid amount. So if you win, you could end up with an amazing holiday that would have cost you pennies not pounds.
We have holidays to such far flung locations as Las Vegas, St Lucia, Hong Kong, Brazil, Greece and Turkey. There are weekend breaks to be won to places such as Iceland, Istanbul, Paris. And if you dont fancy that then we have a London Theatre break, a number of UK "staycations" and even a weekend break in Butlins!
