Gastrolntestinal Healthcare has announced the recent hiring of Nancy Nicoll O'Neill as Practice Administrator. In her role, O’Neill will be responsible for overall financial management, human resources, practice growth and marketing, and practice accreditation—ensuring that the facility continues to meet all state and federal regulations.
O’Neill brings over 10 years of medical practice management experience and expertise to her position. Prior to joining GastroIntestinal Healthcare, she was the practice administrator for a prominent North Raleigh plastic surgery center. Under her direction, the practice achieved accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) in 2003, 2004, and 2008. AAAHC status means that a practice has passed a series of rigorous and nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality healthcare set by the AAAHC.
O’Neill is excited about her new appointment and says that it was the prospect of growing the practice in the field of endoscopy procedures that attracted her to GastroIntestinal Healthcare. “The state-of-the-art endoscopy suite that GastroIntestinal Healthcare offers for convenience and quality of care to patients was something that really impressed me,” says O’Neill. “I knew that I could use my experience to help market this benefit to prospective patients, as well as to referring physicians.” She adds that she is also looking forward to finding ways to educate the public on GI healthcare issues, as well as tackle compliance for all of the new Medicare regulations.
GastroIntestinal Healthcare provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy, including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. Dr. Robert Harper, co-owner of GastroIntestinal Healthcare, says that his practice is fortunate to have O’Neill as part of the practice team and says that her industry knowledge and connections will help the practice grow and be more competitive in 2010.

O’Neill obtained a Bachelor’s in Executive Administration from Westervelt Business College in London Ontario, Canada with minors in Human Resources and Marketing from Community College of Aurora in Colorado. She is currently a member of the Triangle Medical Managers Group and the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).
