Octagon Research Solutions, Inc., a pioneer and leader in the electronic transformation of clinical R&D in the life sciences industry, announced today that Octagon was awarded a 'Stevie' for 'Most Innovative Company' at The 2006 American Business Awards last night. Octagon Research Solutions, Inc. won in a particularly strong category, which included other finalists such as Salesforce.com and WebEx. Jim Walker, Octagon's chairman and CEO was presented the Stevie by CNN business news anchor Ali Velshi before a packed ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Mr. Walker was also an American Business Awards finalist for 'Best Executive'.
"All of us at Octagon are extremely please and honored to have been presented with this award for Most Innovative Company", stated Mr. Walker, "This means a great deal to us, not only because of the incredible competition in this category with some of the best and brightest companies in the U.S., but because this is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all of our employees here at Octagon. This is great recognition for us, the Pennsylvania Biotech industry, and for the Philadelphia Area as well, which is home to some of the most successful and most storied companies in the world. We are all proud to have been bestowed this honor and will continue to build upon not only this success, but Octagon's vision for our future as well."
Hailed as "the business world's own Oscars" by the New York Post (April 27, 2005), The American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace.
Stevie Awards were presented in over 40 categories including Best Overall Company, Best Executive, and Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program. More than 1,500 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.
The Stevie Awards were created to honor and generate public recognition of the efforts, accomplishments, and positive contributions of companies and business people worldwide. Beginning with The American Business Awards in 2002, The International Business Awards in 2003, and The Stevie Awards for Women Entrepreneurs in 2004, the mission is to raise the profile of exemplary companies and individuals among the press, the business community, and the general public.
Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected Stevie winners from among the Finalists. Finalists were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging in earlier this year.
