Artech Information Systems LLC announced today that it has won the 2009 NMSDC National Supplier of the Year award. The award was presented to Artech president, Ranjini Poddar, at the NMSDC Conference and Business Fair Awards Banquet in New Orleans, October 28.
“This is the biggest honor a minority-owned business can receive,” said Ms. Poddar. “We have to thank the NMSDC and their local chapter, The Council, for their support. Throughout the years, they have really helped us gain visibility with many large corporations that have become our clients.”
Artech had won the Local and Regional Supplier of the Year awards in the Class IV category, representing minority businesses with annual sales greater than $50 million. Artech is also a member of the NMSDC’s exclusive Corporate Plus® program, which recognizes Artech’s proven capacity to handle national contracts for major corporations.
“During a challenging economy, major corporations have counted on excellent minority suppliers like Artech to deliver great products, cost savings, quality service and innovative solutions,” said NMSDC president, Harriet Michel. “This level of performance will be increasingly valuable to more corporations as the economy recovers.”
