FileNet Corporation (Nasdaq: FILE), the leading provider of Enterprise Content and Business Process Management solutions, has announced the release of FileNet Capture Advanced Document Recognition (ADR), designed to offer customers key strategic competitive advantages. FileNet Capture ADR enables FileNet Capture applications to recognize structured and unstructured forms for automated input into business processes, significantly increasing productivity and reducing operating costs.
Capture ADR provides greater return on investment than traditional ‘key to image’ applications by automating human-intensive processes with easy-to-use business rules. The solution also facilitates content-enabled business process management applications by extracting important data from anywhere on an image.
Additionally, Capture ADR enhances FileNet P8-based compliance applications by automating FileNet Records Manager classification of content, and by combining image content extraction and document classification and completion with FileNet ZeroClick records capture technology.
“FileNet Capture ADR enables customers to meet the growing demands brought on by time-sensitive, mission-critical applications. Any enterprise with a high volume of documents of multiple types and extensive document-extraction needs will benefit from Capture ADR,” said Martyn Christian, Chief Marketing Officer for FileNet. “Our FileNet Capture customers can expect significant business advantages in the form of repetitive task elimination, quicker turnaround and reduced cost.”
Existing customers can implement FileNet Capture ADR to extract data from images and maximize operator efficiency in a FileNet Capture production environment during character correction, indexing and double keying. Recognition, a feature of this solution comprises an advanced Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) and imaging processing technology, that captures the majority of machine and hand-printed data from document images with no human intervention. Recognition can also process arrays of check marks and barcodes.
Correction, another important feature, enables characters recognized with low confidence to be edited and confirmed in minimal time using a minimum of keystrokes. Correct data translates to correct database lookups. Completion, the feature that can be used as a standalone key-form-image solution, provides a flexible interface for data validation against business rules.
Verification provides an interface for double-keying of critical data fields to ensure accuracy. Statistics and Reports (Scripted Export), formats the output data stream to suit the target application with the option of creating simultaneous multiple output streams.
