Cellcity has officially launched YPGo, a state of the art mobile development platform and application solution designed to level the playing field for Yellow Pages operators in the constant battle against industry search giant Google™.
After a decade in which Yellow Pages operators around the world have seen their local search services threatened by the might of Google’s seemingly unstoppable march to supremacy, now it’s time to fight back.
As the mobile revolution powers ahead, not even the mighty Google is able to stay ahead, neither as a vendor nor as a search browser provider, as rival mobile vendors seek to keep them at bay while they come up with their own competitive offerings.
That’s great news for local search providers and in particular for Yellow Pages and Newspaper publishers, starved of digital advertising revenue.
According to Dannie Francis, CEO at Cellcity, “With a level playing field, publishers can make use of their content by getting to the place where internet search is growing fastest, on the mobile phone.”
“Cell phones are ideal quick search vehicles, where’s a restaurant, where’s a gas station, a police station, a hospital and get direction and maps on the fly. Mobile users of Cellcity YPGo solution can even get immediate click to call access to merchants such as plumbers, florists, restaurants, couriers, and whatever service a local search company wants to offer, Cellcity can help provide it,” he said.
Francis added that YPGo was an ideal solution for publishers to monetize with advertising real estate and the flexibility of the mobile and its unique relationship with the owner created many opportunities for new revenue streams.
Cellcity’s secret sauce, that enables a publisher to have their own mobile application running on every major mobile phone and operating system with 4 to 6 weeks.
YPGo creates a platform not only for new advertising streams, but also for directory publishers to sell the existing products they sell today on their websites. YPGo is the ultimate weapon for the sales teams, who just sell exactly the same as they do today, but with even more real estate and more opportunities to sell to.
Newspaper publishers and magazines can also use the YPGo solution said Francis. “YPGo is suitable for any publishers, as the system enables you to simply drop in your content, create your categories, display content, and of course create advertising real estate to go with it.”
Francis said YPGo works well with any ad serving solution, but especially AdServXT, Cellcity’s own aggregated ad serving platform.
Key advantages of the YPGo platform is its “develop once, publish to many” devices scenario.
Francis described the solution as Cellcity’s secret sauce, which enables a publisher to have their own mobile application running on every major mobile phone and operating system with 4 to 6 weeks of contract signing.
“Undoubtedly, we are the number 1, fastest way to get to market. We challenge anyone to do it faster across the entire range of mobile phones on the market.”
Cellcity will also ensure that any solution developed can be distributed across the widest range of mobile application stores and is maintained to enable publishers to have the highest possible number of users.
Pricing and Availability
Pricing is available upon request. The solution is already being deployed in several publishing houses worldwide.
YPGo will be officially launched at DMS’09 in Orlando Florida on September 22, 2009.
