The Eurobike Award is given for particularly innovative design and above-average product quality. With over 400 nominated products, Duro’s TruShine was one of 77 award winners, and the only tire to receive this distinction.
Reflective strips on bicycle tires, though not new, typically follow are standard size and appearance on tires. At a typical width of 5mm, reflective tire strips are typically white or colored, giving the tire and unattractive appearance, we well as offering low visibility to oncoming vehicle traffic due to the narrowness of the strip.
In comparison, Duro’s TruShine reflective strip technology increases the reflective surface from 5 to anywhere between 9 and 18 mm, depending on tire size. This width effectively doubles the reflective area visible to oncoming vehicle traffic, exponentially increasing rider safety. With the increase in sales of commuting bicycles, particularly in western markets, this technology is invaluable.
In addition, TruShine technology features a proprietary combination of ink imprint upon reflective surface which allows the reflective strip to have an elegant, gridded appearance, similar to a carbon weave pattern.
