Rapid Recovery, the largest refrigerant recovery company servicing the continental United States, announces a new service location in Cleveland, OH.
Rapid Recovery (raprec.com) is opening their 11th service location in the United Sates and first in Ohio. Their unique business model will give Cleveland HVACR and Demolition companies a new alternative for dealing with the refrigerant that is part of their work. “Contractors will now have an opportunity to utilize a true service company in regards to their refrigerant recovery needs.” Said Les Rhynard of Rapid Recovery. The service model touted by Rapid Recovery is centered around knowledgeable, professional and uniformed personnel capable of safely and responsibly recovering refrigerant from systems and cylinders located at jobsites or contractors shops. Going one step further Rapid Recovery documents each recovery and provides this information to their customer upon request or at the end of each year. This documentation portfolio contains all the information required to be in compliance with the EPA’s Stratospheric Protection Division. “Our customers that utilize our services on each job can simply take the documentation portfolio we provide and file it at the end of the year and have all of their recovered refrigerant accounted for.” Said Rhynard. This is in stark contrast to contractors that may be utilizing several different sources to recover their cylinders. These contractors would need to get documentation from each source used and compile that information using their own staff. And many companies offering to take recovered refrigerant don’t track the recovered refrigerant turned into them leaving their contractors open to liability should a refrigerant audit be performed by the EPA’s Stratoshperic Protection Division.
Rapid Recovery has opened an additional 3 territories already in 2009 and is hopeful to open several more in addition to Cleveland by the end of the year. In this time of economic uncertainty it seems remarkable to be opening territories at this pace. Certainly the Rapid Recovery model of franchising has a lot to do with the growth. According to Rhynard, “People are looking for opportunities to secure their own future. Our franchise model allows them that opportunity as well as helping contractors in the area with their environmental responsibilities.”
Rick Boettcher, owner of the Cleveland territory was born in Cleveland and has lived in the greater Cleveland area his whole life. He and his family enjoy the diversity of the people and businesses in the area. Rick has previously owned and operated several businesses including an alloy wheel repair company. He primarily worked with new and used car dealerships repairing damaged rims. After researching a lot of different corporate ideas and franchise opportunities Rick found Rapid Recovery. He knew this was something different than the standard business offering and decided to pursue it. Once thoroughly researching the industry and Rapid Recovery he got excited and moved quickly to secure his Cleveland territory. Boettcher said “The fact I would have a positive impact on the environment with my Rapid Recovery franchise was a huge plus for me. My family enjoys camping, hiking and canoeing and we want to be good stewards of the environment.” In discussions with other Rapid Recovery territory owners Boettcher confirmed the success and growth of other territories. Rhynard said, “I think our growth can be attributed to our focus on providing the best service solution in regards to refrigerant handling and in part to the frustration of contractors who have experience with more traditional refrigerant programs”.
Rapid Recovery offers refrigerant recovery and abatement nationwide through its franchise network. Their customer base includes refrigeration and air conditioning contractors, refrigeration wholesale distributors, demolition contractors, DOD, landfill administrators and in-house service departments. They provide on-site refrigerant recovery solutions, including job-site refrigerant recovery, recovery cylinder service, and refrigerant disposal and documentation services.
