Coming off record attendance at the 2009 San Diego Comic Con, fans gobbled up the newest and exclusive Minimates - Marvel Champions, Marvel Thunderbolts and Terminator 2. With their story accurate accessories and detailed character outfits, it’s no doubt why these miniature, two inch block figures are a hit among collectors and kids alike.
“In these tough times, Minimates are very affordable at around $4 each. They are a great way for fans and kids to add to their Superhero collection without taking up much space,” stated Pat Wang, president of Action Figure Xpress, the premier Minimates collectors shop.
Another surprise hit were the 2000 free AFX Fanboy keychains given away during the Comic Con. “We were happy to see lines of fans around the back of the booth. Our intention was to introduce everyone we could to the fun of Minimates,” said Pat Wang. Look for more mini superheroes sets flying out later this year including the Silver Age X-Men featuring and X-Factor Minimate box sets featuring Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, and Ice Man.
