AccuRev Inc. today announced the new Web 2.0 Interface for AccuRev, extending functionality for its fully- integrated change management and issue tracking solution. Enterprises can easily scale the integration of quality engineers, technical writers, and product management in with the software development team, via the AccuRev Platform.
Designed for processes including Agile, parallel, and other complex software development, AccuRev now offers the ability for geographically distributed teams to access the integrated change management functionality through both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer using secure protocols with or without a corporate VPN. Members of the software development team that do not generally change software artifacts, including software managers and testers, now have full access to issue queries and other important functionality.
“The new Web Interface for AccuRev, combined with customizations to our AccuWork issue email notification change triggers has significantly improved our issue management workflows,” said Mark Godfrey, chief architect at OpenSpirit Corporation.
“Software development teams adopting Agile have been increasingly migrating to AccuRev to help with their Agile adoption over the past year,” explains Damon Poole, CTO and Agile Evangelist at AccuRev. “As Agile methods and geographically distributed software development scale across the enterprise, the introduction of AccuRev functionality via the new Web interface enhances performance and usability for these remote teams.”
Enhanced Change Management functionality, now available with AccuRev 4.7.2, further extends AccuRev’s ability to manage software process automation for complex development processes in large enterprise teams. Examples of this new functionality include:
• Web 2.0 client for AccuRev change management and issue tracking
AccuRev now supports the ability to access the integrated AccuWork issue tracking functionality from both Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers. This enhanced functionality is built on industry standard Web 2.0 technology, and offers significantly enhanced performance for both remote and local users.
• Enhanced query editor with full-text search
The AccuWork query editor now supports drag-and-drop functionality and full-text search, which greatly improves usability. Additionally, new functionality has been added to support the simplification of selections in order to filter by multiple conditions.
• Grouping and Bulk update
Users can now easily select issues and fields from any query for updating. This simplifies the process for making multiple changes as it can now be done quickly and with a single command. Additionally, issues can be grouped by field, which enables additional views.
• Charting
Built-in charting for both pie and bar charts enable a visual view of issues and fields. Common charts include issues by state (e.g., closed, pending), severity distribution, and which developers are assigned issues.
• New AccuWork server pricing model with support for unlimited users
AccuRev now offers an unlimited server license for AccuWork users. AccuWork users will have their choice of using the new Web interface or the classic Java-based client interface. All users will share the common integrated AccuRev workflow, and software configuration management.
