WAT-AAH! launches the Stop Sugar Campaign in New York City to raise awareness about the Americans’ ever-increasing consumption of popular beverages, often containing an excess amount of sugar. The campaign kicks off with wild-posters in New York City enticing the public to visit Stop Sugar at stopsugar.blogspot.com.
The posters convey simple yet powerful messages challenging people’s consumption of drinks overloaded with sugar such as sodas, energy drinks, and vitamin enhanced beverages. The website features a video of a 7-year-old boy on a mission to post flyers all around New York City. He is determined to challenge the public and convey that water or WAT-AAH! is the healthier and more beneficial alternative to sugary beverages. This website encourages the campaign supporters to submit contents which will further educate and alert the viewers about the Americans’ overindulgence in sugar and its negative health effects. The contents can be letters, articles, photographs and/or videos.
The Stop Sugar Campaign is a sequel to the huge success of the WAT-AAH! Challenge Campaign, where 1,072 kids were asked to choose the beverage of choice among sodas, juices and WAT-AAH!. The results were absolutely phenomenal; 9 out of 10 kids chose WAT-AAH! for its clean, unadulterated taste and powerful label.
With the Stop Sugar Campaign, WAT-AAH! re-emphasizes its mission to reverse the established behavior and dependency on sugar among American children and to help fight the ongoing battle against childhood obesity. The campaign comes at an opportune time as the country weighs in on the subjects of healthcare reform, specifically an annual expense of 147 billion dollars attributed to the treatment of obesity related illnesses such as diabetes, in addition to the taxing of soft drinks.
