“When playing my position, you get hit and deliver hits so often, you need every layer of protection you can find,” he said. “McDavid’s protective gear will help shield my body from some of the pains of playing running back. I look forward to being a part of an explosive Broncos offense and to do that I have to be on the field often.”
Moreno, who is rumored to be part of the Broncos’ 2009 starting lineup, has chosen to wear McDavid’s HEXPAD line of protective apparel and sports medical products during the 2009 and 2010 NFL seasons.
McDavid outfits the University of Georgia, where Moreno played, along with 75 other of the nation’s largest universities and colleges. They also provide protective apparel to professional athletes including Dwyane Wade and Corey Maggette.
“It was important for us to sign a high profile rookie with such tremendous potential,” said McDavid’s marketing director Rey Corpuz. “We believe that having young men of this caliber serving as spokesmen for our product will help spread the word throughout the league, and among their many fans, about how valuable it is to have one more layer of protection under their uniform.”
