Opened in November of 2007, Franklin Synergy Bank located in Franklin, TN is a unique establishment bringing a combination of traditional community banking, such as trust, competence and expediency, with innovative, technologically-advanced delivery systems. In building a data protection environment that would dovetail with the organization’s modern banking infrastructure, Franklin Synergy Bank sought to avoid the complexities and cost of tape-based backup. The company worked with IT Select, an IT solution provider, to deploy a disk-based backup and recovery solution based on Nexsan SATABoy storage systems.
Franklin Synergy Bank has deployed a Nexsan-based backup and recovery solution to protect data across 15 servers at three locations. The backup environment consists of two 14 TB capacity RAID 5 configured Nexsan SATABoy units with a unit located at Franklin Synergy Bank’s headquarters and another unit located at a designated disaster recovery (DR) banking location. The Nexsan SATABoy units are connected using iSCSI, providing ample throughput for rapid data recovery operations.
