CEO & Chairman Jim Walker of Octagon Research Solutions, Inc., a pioneer and leading provider of breakthrough software and services to the life sciences industry, announced today that Brian Shilling, senior manager, Clinical Programming, Octagon Research Solutions, Inc. received an Award of Excellence within the Technical Publications Competition from the Society of Technical Communication (STC), Carolina Chapter. This award honored his book entitled, Validating Clinical Trial Data Reporting with SAS®, which was co-authored with Carol I. Matthews and published in conjunction with SAS Press, a unit of business analytics software leader SAS Institute Inc.
As the largest professional organization serving the technical communication profession, the STC boasts 20,000 members worldwide. The STC Carolina Chapter recognized honorees at an Awards Banquet held earlier this year in Cary, North Carolina.
Brian Shilling brings over thirteen years of professional experience in statistical programming for clinical trials to his publication. "It was a highlight of my professional career to collaborate on this effort with my colleague Ms. Matthews as well as the STC," noted Mr. Shilling. "To be the recipient of this award is a testament to the dedication and support statistical programming professionals receive from the STC."
