The Dallas chapter of the American Society for Training and Development, a world leading professional development organization focused on the promotion and advancement of workplace learning and performance, announced the launch of its new Website, created by Richardson-based Brainband Technology Services. The site was built to enhance the group’s communication with the public and its 400 members.
The organization was struggling to find an IT professional with the time and knowledge to make the site look professional and operate correctly. Representatives of Brainband, a technology company offering a wide array of Internet-related services, volunteered their time and expertise to revitalize the Dallas ASTD’s online presence. The much needed redesign was the first major update the site had received in nearly a decade. Brainband structured the new site on a content management system which allows people with less technical training to easily upload and update information on the site so ASTD members can always access accurate and current chapter information.
The site features a JobNet tool, where visitors can search for jobs in the training and development field, as well as information about the ASTD organization and the chapter’s news and upcoming events. Employers can submit jobs to be posted on JobNet and can also search the Consultants Directory to find qualified professionals and potential employees. The Membership Directory will launch this week, enabling ASTD members to login and update their contact information, as well as search for other members’ contact information on the site.
“ASTD is an organization devoted to bettering the training and development professional community in which we work,” said Dave Livingston, co-founder and chief technology officer of Brainband. “We hope the Web site we designed will help the Dallas chapter further its cause and better communicate with current and potential members.”
