American Megatrends, a leader in storage and computing innovations, introduced today a newly enhanced IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) stack, the MegaRAC PM 4.0, which supports the new Renesas Technology Corp. H8S/2462 Baseboard Management Controllers (BMC) with dedicated Network Interface Controller.
“AMI’s MegaRAC® PM Firmware for IPMI management is utilized by industry leading OEMs to differentiate their products based on innovation in design and server management. The combination of the MegaRAC PM and Renesas H8S/2462 provides OEMs with a formidable management subsystem on a chip that will accomplish many design wins for feature-rich server solutions,” said Justin Bagby, MegaRAC sales director at AMI. “AMI’s IPMI firmware implementation leverages years of close development collaboration with Renesas to provide highly reliable server health monitoring and management to OEMs utilizing the new Renesas H8S/2462 microcontrollers.”

The IPMI 2.0 specification is a leading industry standard, defining hardware and firmware interfaces for server platform health monitoring, sending alerts and providing remote access to computer systems.
