Garden Media Group has been awarded a 2009 Gold Hermes Creative Award, considered a benchmark for the marketing industry, for a video it produced to inform people of the benefits of indoor plants.
The Chadds Ford based agency created and launched the “O2 for You” campaign on behalf of Costa Farms, the largest grower of indoor plants in North America, to raise awareness of the dangers of indoor pollution and educate people about the health benefits of having plants in the home and at work.
The winning entry documented the launch of this public service campaign as volunteers gave out Peace Lilies and the “gift of fresh air” to new mothers in several New York City hospitals. The video was used for viral marketing, media pitching, internal Costa sales meetings, and to close several major accounts for Costa.
“We were on a very tight budget and tight schedule and had limited creative resources, but we were able to produce for Costa a video that captured the essence of the campaign and the excitement of the launch,” says Susan McCoy, president of Garden Media Group.
Judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professional’s over a two month period, the Hermes Creative Awards recognizes the most outstanding work and service in the industry.
This year’s competition drew over 3,700 entries submitted by advertising agencies, public relations, marketing firms and freelance professionals from around the world.
As a recipient of the Hermes Gold Award, Garden Media Group was recognized for exceptional quality, creativity and resourcefulness. Only 17 percent of the entries submitted won this award.
“I’m honored on behalf of our entire team for this industry recognition,” McCoys says. “The Hermes Creative Award is a result of the creativity, hard work and dedication of our entire team.”
For more than 15 years, the Garden Media Group has promoted plants and products to the outdoor living and green industries, generating consumer awareness and driving consumer demand, which, in turn, increases sales.
