nFlow, a leading supplier of digital dictation solutions, today announced that its Digital Dictation System (DDS) has been integrated into LawSoft, Pilgrim Systems Plc’s Practice Management solution, to offer a new joint solution to the legal sector. Central London law firm Magrath LLP is the first organisation to go live with this integrated solution, extending the core functionality of the individual nFlow DDS and LawSoft software and thereby maximising its existing investment in these technologies. This integrated nFlow-LawSoft solution is delivering substantial time savings and efficiency benefits to the firm’s 60 users. They no longer need to enter information into two separate systems, reducing duplication of data entry and ensuring accuracy of records in the firm.
Document creation and management is now automated and streamlined. For instance, when users open digital dictation files for transcription, they automatically open them in the correct document templates for the job such as standard letter, fax or e-mail. These templates are pre-populated with essential case-related information such as subject, address, contact details and matter codes. Magrath is currently using 10 templates within its case management system and this number is expected to gradually rise in the near future. This has significantly speeded up document production, enabling faster turnaround on client deliverables and an enhanced overall service delivery to customers. Because the nFlow DDS is integrated with LawSoft, the transcriptions are then automatically saved into the firm’s Lawsoft document management system.
Nick Doughty, IT Manager at Magrath LLP, commented, “More so today than ever before, the legal business is reliant on technology to help increase overall business efficiency. The result however, is often a fragmented IT environment requiring us to manage disparate systems. This can be time consuming and costly. Also, it distracts us from the more important IT tasks on a more strategic level.“To us, an integrated solution for digital dictation and practice management makes a lot of business sense. We have reduced IT administration support for these technologies; facilitated enhanced efficiencies for fee-earners and secretarial staff, and in doing so further improved our customer service; and maximised our investment in nFlow and LawSoft by extending their functionality.” Robin Boyle, Client Services Director at Pilgrim Systems Plc, added, “We are delighted at the success of this installation at Magrath. With both LawSoft and nFlow being Microsoft-based platforms, there is a natural compatibility between the two solutions, which has resulted in a robust, integrated offering that is quick and easy to deploy, and one that delivers instantaneous operational efficiencies. We expect to be undertaking several more such implementations in the immediate future. Enterprises are keen to streamline their IT infrastructure to maximise business efficiency.”
LawSoft is one of the most comprehensive business tools for the legal sector and includes practice management, workflow, case management, client relationship management and document management systems. Rob Lancashire, Sales and Marketing Director at nFlow, concluded, “We have developed this joint solution to add further value to our respective offerings to help facilitate business gains as well as provide customers with a competitive edge in the current difficult economic climate. “Both nFlow and Pilgrim Systems share the same work ethic and approach to customer service, and all our technological advancements are driven by customer requirements. This makes us a strong partnership.”
