Shiny Red, the UK’s first-established social media PR agency, has agreed a partnership with web video specialists Simply Media to expand its range of client services.
Under the deal, Simply Media becomes Shiny Red’s preferred supplier of shot-for-web videos, and will provide expertise and advice both to Shiny Red and its parent company The Red Consultancy. The partnership is the first of its kind between a PR agency and a web video production house.
The two agencies have already collaborated successfully on a range of new business pitches and client video shorts including a video for the National Lottery Promotions Unit featuring Peter Crouch.
Helen Nowicka, Managing Director of Shiny Red, said: “We’ve been creating and pitching web videos for our clients since day one, and know they’re an effective way to tell a story. By partnering with Simply Media, our clients now have one-stop-shop access to a broader range of services to meet their social media marketing needs.”
Henry Scott, CEO of Simply Media said: “This is a partnership between two web innovators who understand that engaging video content is a high-impact, cost effective way to reach people online. The research that we are about to launch highlights just how important online video is to any successful PR or marketing campaign.”
According to a Hitwise report published in March 2009, UK internet traffic to online video websites increased by 178% between February 2007 and 2008.
