The game, ‘Diamond Detonation,’ launched this month and is a classic maze game. It has seen 132,000 plays with an average game time of four minutes. The objective is to work around passages of a jewel mine, avoiding miners and their bombs. The player collects jewels to unlock the next level and can then enter their score on to a leaderboard.
Coloured Rocks is a sub-brand of jewellery auction site Rocks.TV, who TAMBA worked with last year to create another viral game ‘Glamour Under The Hammer,’ a unique game featuring motion video of one of the channel’s presenters Sarah Bennett.
“Coloured Rocks is an online-only company and successful viral games have the potential to generate huge amounts of interest. We have a high customer retention rate, so attracting new customers is always a top priority,” said Steve Bennett, MD of Coloured Rocks. “Viral games are the ideal solution - we feel Diamond Detonation reflects the accessibility and usability of our website. TAMBA has an impressive and extensive client list and we were confident the company would produce an original and relevant viral to complement our brand.”
ColouredRocks.com specialises in selling high quality gemstones, and is a member of the British Jewellers’ Association. The site was founded by Steve Bennett, who was previous MD of television shopping channel Gems TV. Coloured Rocks sells between 500 and 600 pieces of in-house jewellery daily and anticipates a turnover of 6 million in 2009.
“TAMBA has created a classic game with inventive twists tailored towards the Coloured Rocks brand,” said Kay Hammond, CEO of TAMBA. “This viral will be ideal brand building material, appealing to both men and women, and will be seeded with our huge list of gaming sites and portals.”
TAMBA’s clients include Sony Blu Ray, My Deco, Virgin Active and Kwik Fit.
