Martyrs will play host for One by One: The Best of Chicago Singer-Songwriters where seven local singer/songwriters come together to share their original music including: Jeanne T. Arrigo, Brad Cole, Dan Connolly, Al Day, Sue Fink, Jeff Libman, & Terry MacNamara – all of whom met at the Old Town School Of Music’s “First Friday Songwriters Exchange”.
While individually they have been writing/performing for many years, they will also accompany each other in various configurations on-stage. Expect to hear a variety of styles, ideas, and rhythms -- and to have your spirits uplifted!
The evening will be hosted by local singer-songwriter, Brad Cole, who has played in a number of Chicago-based bands including Treatment, Psycholove and The Second Story as the lead singer and principal songwriter. He also performed with NYC based The Subscribers and has performed across the US, Mexico and the UK.
Brad is also a long time regular member of Chicago’s renowned Old Town School of Folk Music "First Friday Songwriters Circle" and does frequent acoustic shows withsinger songwriters from this songwriter collective.
"There is so much talent in this town flying under the radar. This is a diverse showcase featuring the seasoned and the raw, they will make you laugh and cry and you will want to hear more," Cole remarks.
One by One: The Best of Chicago Singer-Songwriters will take place on Wednesday, May 13th at 8pm. Martyrs is located at 3855 N. Lincoln Avenue in Chicago. Tickets for this 21+ event are $7 and are available for purchase at the door or online at the Martyrs website.
