@Large Films Inc., an award-winning film and video production company and home to one of the region's largest indoor studios, recently wrapped production on several spots for video gaming juggernaut Ubisoft, one of the most substantial gaming publishers in the United States.
The mission seemed impossible- shoot 5 spots in 3 days at 4 locations. What the @Large team was able to accomplish exceeded the initial goal. In fact, 8 national broadcast spots, 5 internet shorts, and bonus footage were created! Director Brian Belefant, Executive Producer Juliana Lukasik, Head of Production John Beveridge, and Production Manager Heather Harlow devised a system where multiple units would build and prep each site in advance. With extra cooperation from the weather, the production process went smoothly despite the frenetic pace and logistics involved in a shoot of this magnitude.
The end result is several hilarious spots that feature belching, screaming, farting, freaked out rabbits. These are not cute little fluffy bunnies! Rabbids have developed a strong fanbase who are attracted to their slapstick, demented antics. It was crucial that the spots present the same brand of bizarre humor that led to the Rabbids’ popularity in the gaming world. These commercials are now up for several awards.
John Beveridge, Head of Production at @Large Films was very pleased with the final outcome of the spots. “We were able to match the outrageous tone of the rabbids in the spots with the live action portion. It’s always very gratifying to see people watch them and laugh.”
