Akron, OH, United States, 2009/04/27 - Effective May 4, 2009, DBD Inc’s name will change to DBD officials from 360 Communications LLC, (DBD’s parent company) have announced.

DBD will relocate its offices to 826 Minota Ave in east Akron on May 4, 2009. The name change affects the three companies DBD Inc. sold to 360 Communications. Company officials say we are changing our business structure to provide a better service for clients. Early next year the company plans to add two new business units to help both companies tie their operations together.
Benita Williams was the president and CEO of DBD Inc. She said the change is needed to serve our new and existing clients. As part of the sale and name change, her title changed to President of 360 Communications LLC.
Ohio-based 360 Communications LLC purchased DBD in 2008. That gave DBD the ability to offer customers a wider line of products and services, some of which were produced by other 360 Communications companies. "In the past, we were limited by our size," Williams said. “Now we can expand our workforce as we expand our customer base”. Williams said the sale could create approximately two permanent full-time jobs in the Akron Ohio area and seven permanent full-time positions across the US. Current clients can expect to see new products and services over the next couple of months.
Work to get ready for the name change has been going on for several years. Williams said, “Initially the thought of changing a name that we have used since 1996 was tough”. Williams started DBD Inc in January 1996 while still in college. “It is a big move”, but in the end she said, we will be able to offer a better service to our clients. "When we combined the products and services for DBD and 360 Communications, we created a powerful synergy, our clients will see how much more value we can bring to their organization," Williams said. "There's a lot of excitement for us in the east Akron area. We are proud to be a part of this community”.
360 Communications LLC, a leading provider of staffing, event planning, knowledge management, and information architecture solutions for government and private industries, purchased DBD Inc. (dbdinc.biz), located in Ravenna, Ohio, at the end of 2008. DBD delivers custom technical writing, training development, documentation, editing, translation, and Web 2.0 solutions to government and private industries. The company plans to open two satellite offices in San Francisco CA and Norcross GA later this year.
